It's the one question everyone was asking, and we didn't find the answer out until the last second - but we now know the designer of Kate Middleton's wedding dress.
The gown is a design by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen's fashion house.
"Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing," the palace said. " Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes Alexander McQueen's work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress."
The dress is made of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout the bodice, skirt and underskirt. The dress, made of ivory and white satin gazar, was designed to emulate an opening flower. The train measures almost nine feet long.
The lace applique for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework. Individual flowers were hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create the dress' design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock. The back of the dress was finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops.more
When it comes to shopping for lingerie, most women know exactly what they want. At the same time, many of them know where they should go to buy these pieces of clothing. Despite these, there is one piece of information that many women do not pay close attention to. They do not usually think about the color of the garment they are going to buy. With this, they do not realize how important it is to choose the right color of underwear.
Most women stick to choosing their favorite color and let it work with the rest of their clothes. What they fail to realize is that their underwear’s color has a role to play in complimenting their hair color, skin color, and eye color. Once the right color is chosen, it can prove to be really beneficial as it can make the wearer look sexy. Here are the reasons why these things are affected by the color of the underwear:
Skin Color This is the most obvious factor that needs to be considered when buying underwear. Most of the time, women choose to buy garments that have a color that is very close to their skin complexion. The reason behind this is so they can hide the underwear by confusing people with the color.
Hair Color There are some women who would question why their hair color needs to be considered when they buy underwear. They think that there is no clear connection between the two because they are physically located on different ends of the human body. What they should realize though is that their hair color has a role in making their choice of underwear garment color fit into their features. They have to make sure that the underwear color they have on will not contrast with the color of their hair as this will not look good.
Eye Color Lastly, eye color needs to be considered when choosing the right color of underwear. It is best to look for underwear color that can emphasize the wearer’s eye color. With this, women who have hazel eyes are lucky because they can get away with just about any color.
The above mentioned factors are the things that need to be considered when choosing color of lingerie. However, the underwear color should not be the only factor that lets women decide whether or not they should buy it. Above all, they must take into consideration the fit and comfort of the underwear they are choosing. If they do not feel sexy wearing them, it may be better to choose another style. Throughout the world, women know how comfortable and sexy underwear can make them feel powerful. As such, these are the types of underwear that should be purchased.
Designer Jad Ghandour will debut the Danasha Luxury Gown at Miami International Fashion week. The couture dress will incorporate diamonds and gold as well as other fine materials and precious gems.
Though Ghandour is no stranger to dressing well-heeled ladies (Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza recently wore one of his creations), the designer has never created an item like the Danasha Luxury Gown, which will cost a whopping $1.5 million.via
Not to be outdone with mere diamonds and emeralds on a dress, Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo shows models wearing outfits bedecked with gold coins. 1,500 Austrian gold coins valued at $1.2 million were on three outfits, including a dress weighing 22 pounds, and jackets weighing up to 46 pounds. One of the models was incapable of carrying the additional weight.via
Alexander McQueen’s memory will live on with a lot of his collaborations, ideas and aspirations coming out this year.
One such collaborative effort worth noting is the Puma and Alexander McQueen SS2010 Collection. Featuring heels which look capable of being worn on a track among other shoes, the collection is certainly a great reminder of his immense talent.
Be sure to check out other Alexander McQueen and Puma features on Trend Hunter below.via
Although people still find the need to feel fabric, try on products and simply revel in the physical presence of new items, it’s only a matter of time before that changes—and Isabel Marant at Net-a-Porter is one step closer to that reality.
Although probably sold in a store as well, girls are getting just as excited about online shopping than they do about heading out for some much needed mall time. I mean, some of the Isabel Marant at Net-a-Porter clothes and accessories are already sold out! And who would have thought otherwise? A great collection for spring and summer, I suggest you check out the site ASAP. If not, you’ll probably be sorry tomorrow.via
Trend Hunter Rachel Bowman wrote about Chau Har Lee’s graduate collection last year and we couldn’t help but look upon her sculptural creations in awe—and a bit of trepidation at the thought of someone possibly wearing such… art.
With her latest designs, however, Chau Har Lee has moved a little closer to feasibly wearable heels. But do not fret, she has managed to hold onto her unique vision, making her new additions as equally awe-inspiring as those in her graduate collection.via
Christopher Bailey is hands down one of my favorite designers. His ability to take high fashion concepts and turn them into gorgeous, wearable and accessible clothes and accessories never ceases to amaze. This is never truer than with the Burberry Fall/Winter 2010 shoes.
Boots were the only footwear Mr Bailey was concerned with for the Burberry Fall/Winter 2010 shoes. Many a pair were strutted down the runway for men and women. Fur-lined booties with lots of buckles as well as snake-print, over-the-knee stiletto boots (in both black and metallic) made front-row fashionistas drool.via
Combining the nerd look with the indie rocker has been an ever increasingly hot trend as of late, and the Michael Bastian Fall 2010 line brings the two worlds together in perfect unison.
Using classic pieces of dweeby flair: the bow tie the checkered vest, the Michael Bastian Fall 2010 line adds a touch of rebellion by throwing in some pre-ripped denim and Doc Martens to create a look that is sure to be duplicated by hipsters all over the country later this year.via
It feels as though many fashion houses are taking cues from one lovely lady, and her name just happens to be Alexa Chung—I mean, just look at the Proenza Schouler Fall 2010 collection. Doesn’t almost every piece look like something she’s either worn or will probably wear?
I’m not trying to label Alexa Chung as a hipster because I honestly think she’s way too ahead of the curve to be called that, but I can’t help but see the Proenza Schouler Fall 2010 collection as such.via
The Joana Vasconcelos ‘Marilyn’ shoe sculpture is made out of hundreds of stainless steel pots, pans and covers. The work of art is dubbed ‘Marilyn’ since it’s heavily inspired by the sexy heels worn by iconic actress Marilyn Monroe from a clip in the legendary film ‘The Seven Year Itch.’
Which clip, do you ask? Spoofed countless times afterward in shows and other movies like the ‘House Bunny’ and ‘Lady in Red’, the famous scene where the blond bombshell walks over an air-vent in a cute white summer dress. I would be very interested in checking out the feet that could fill in Joana Vasconcelos’ shoe structure and then walking over an air-vent.via
We've already seen different styles of shoes before. There is Star Wars inspired shoes, shoes with tarantula, gun footware and other styles of shoes. In this time, we won't only show you a pair of quirky style shoes but more than a dozen of pairs.
Now, here are the different quirky sneaker styles shoes that you can choose to.
Several pairs of thigh-high leather boots were seen pounding the catwalk this season, seducing both the runway as well as the audience. Pure and unabated sex appeal was the message conveyed through this distinctly kinky and highly erotic footwear.
A statement all of their own, one could strut around confidently in a permanent state of dishabille, naked except for the salacious footwear. Indeed, one had the feeling that were they to purchase just one piece of the collection, they could satiate both their carnal and designer desires with any one of the sultry boots.

The Giorgio Armani Prive Spring 2009 show had a distinctive Asian vibe to it.
From the Pagoda architecture inspiration that was evident in the unusual shoulder designs and hairstyle to the Chinese-themed florals and Geisha lacquer reds, the Asian aesthetics of the whole show were undeniable.
But with the Academy Awards season coming soon, the collection also had Hollywood on its mind, with quite a few of the gowns making a dash for the red carpet consideration.
"This collection really fell into two parts: the pagoda tailoring and the power play for the Hollywood red carpet. The latter was more effective, especially the shimmering paillette hourglass sheaths and the plethora of strapless gowns. As we all know, strapless shows no signs of dying out as the event uniform of choice. Which is why Armani doubtless spoke with full confidence in smartly rebutting the R-word question with, "I am sure this collection will be a success."via
RMC Martin Ksohoh’s latest collection 2009 SUKA Jeans collection premium Denim inspired by richly decorated with vintage embroidered traditional Japanese images which gained huge popularity during the post-war era now reborn on denim jeans using high end embroidery technology.
Did you experienced swimming with your jeans on? It's heavy, right? Don't worry because there is now a new denim swimsuit concepts. Designers like Chanel reinvigorated the 'denim as swimwear' trend.
According to Trend de la crème, as you probably guessed, not one of them is the least bit practical (which might suggest that designers either don't anticipate their wearers taking a dip in them, and/or designers just don't give a shiny s*@t.).
The gallery shows fashions collected by Trend de la Creme by Rock & Republic, True Religion, Diesel, Chanel, Ashley Paige, Victoria’s Secret Denim, Totem, Delias, and for the men, Trigger Denim Swimsuit by Rufskin.
We've seen a lot of fashion styles in dress, jeans, shoes or even in jewelry last. And now, this year has started with a beautiful, sartorial bang with big baubles and other statement jewelry being featured in major fashion magazines.
Isla Fisher, the star of soon-to-be-released chic flick, Confessions of a Shopaholic, covers the February 2009 edition of InStyle UK donning multiple strands of large, silver, faux pearls. The eccentric necklace is embellished further with excessively feminine flowers in varying shades of gray.

Score this look yourself by picking of eclectic accessories that are big, bright, bold, long or thick.
